Installation

The parcel looked like any other but as I carefully unrapped it I found it contained two NETGEAR MA101 802.11b Wireless USB adapters. Each one separately boxed.

Each box contained: A USB connection lead, an information pack and a NETGEAR MA101 USB Adapter.

The Instructions for installation were easy to follow, as soon as I plugged the adapter into my USB port the computer (already switched on) sprang to life displaying the message:

The NETGEAR resource CD that came in the package was insterted and a new window popped up:

I clicked continue anyway and the installation continued:

and within two or three minutes the whole installation was over. I then repeated the above on my second computer system.

Configuration

The Lan Configuration Utility came on a disk in the information pack so I started to install it only to find I didn't need to install it as my computer was running 'Windows XP'

I configured my network using the software built into 'Windows XP'.
